Teresa Speaking to The Cathedral School Students on Magnetic Island

Cathedral kids helping put up the kayak

Cathedral students helping put up the kayak. The warm welcome and lovely dinner helped ease the sting of having to return once again to Magnetic Island!

Educating children: My presentations in Primary, Secondary, and community forums detail my trip progress and challenges.  Further discussions transition into goal generation and steps to success for each of these groups in their own endeavors and roadblocks. My method is simple, but not easy.  However, as my audience generates their own possibilities and milestones toward goal accomplishment, the excitement in the room becomes palpable.  After paddling within 1.5km of Cape Cleveland, I was forced back to Magnetic Island by 3-4 meter swells and 30-40 knot winds.  I was quite disappointed until I received the warmest homecoming I’ve experienced so far from the Cathedral School students.   They even assisted me in carrying my kayak back to the shed!  I am the last little head peeking up in the back.
