I saw the biggest sea turtle of my life. As it surfaced, I thought it was an Australian Sea Lion its head was so big. It paused, gently propelled itself forward and submerged. Its carapace 1.1 metres in width and nearly 2 metres in length. It may have been a Leatherback.
People waved as they were fishing, and I saw my first jelly fish. It was quite lovely, I couldn’t resist, I picked it up gently and looked at it’s beautiful blue head and tentacles … aw, come on Mate, I’m taking the piss out of you! I don’t mess with ANY jelly fish let alone a Box Jelly Fish
The jelly fish I saw was quite harmless and I let it be. I paddled around the corner and there was one of the most beautiful bays I had ever seen. The Island of Dr. Moreau with Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer was filmed in Turtle Bay. Early the next morning, I scouted around to see if there were some sign that said “Val Kilmer Was Here,” but no, I had to settle for the beautiful views.
