Teresa First Stop Yarrabah w-tent

Yarrabah Campsite

The winds didn’t let up for four days, darn, what a terrible place to be stuck.  The next morning I got up and wandered around camp.  It took about ten minutes for me to lose my balance on the rocky terrain and lacerate four square centimetres off my right heel.  Lesson learned:  Wear shoes in rocky campsites and when you’re exhausted from paddling the day before.

Yarrabah First Stop Kayak 1

Kayak on Beach

Someone had kindly left behind a tarp.  I utilised it to cover the kayak and protect it from the sun.

Distiller

I wasn’t sure how long I would be here so I set up my distillery to make water.  I learnt just to use sea water.  When I added leaves to experiment, it made the water taste yucky!

I used the extra plastic to catch rain water.  That was much more successful.  I caught ten litres in an hour during one shower!
