AL FRESCO 27-3-2013
I got a call this morning from a good friend of mine. He said, “My friend died.” “I’m so sorry,” I replied. “Who?” “Frank Saraceni,” he said. “Frank Saraceni?” “Yes.” “Frank Saraceni who owns Al Fresco?” “Yes.” “Oh, I’m so sorry.” “He was such a good friend.” I listened to him tell me what Frank meant to him and how he hoped he could still sail Al Fresco in the race next Saturday in Frank’s honor. No matter how many times we hear, “live each day as if it were your last,” it’s always a wake-up call when someone you know, someone you saw just days, perhaps moments ago, someone who means so much to you, dies. Life is a balance between living each day as if it were your last and enjoying each moment with setting inspirational goals. It’s also kind of nice to have some food in the fridge and a little money in the bank in case it’s not your last day. It’s quite important to let those you love know how much they mean to you and to part ways or end a discussion such that you will not have regret if you never see or speak to them again. To all my family and friends and people who are supporting my dream, please know that I appreciate you very much. IN MEMORY OF FRANK SARACINI, a man who was quite kind to me and shared his joy of sailing on AL FRESCO.
Had a wonderful kayak today from Palm Beach in Rockingham. Met Tony, Ash, and Sandy. Sandy is doing some extraordinary kayaking around the world. Her webpage is http://www.sandy-robson.com/. Les Allen of http://www.lesallenkayaks.com/ was quite generous in loaning me a kayak and gear. I saw my first Australian Sea Lion today. No photos unfortunately. Paddled around Penguin Island and saw lots of birds. Here are a few shots of me in a kayak. Make it a great day!
I knew the title would get your attention. What a fun, hysterical day. Who knew I would end up at a nude beach and who am I to judge free spirits, right!?! Being the only clothed woman actually hanging out got a little attention, I guess you could say. Everyone else was hurriedly scurrying down the beach eyes straight ahead. I’ll tell you what, a clothing optional beach is a great place to people watch–the clothed people! Oh, but there was one nude fisherman. I just kept thinking, “Isn’t that a little dangerous?” Anyhow, I had several interesting chats to naked and non-naked people. To top the day off, when I got back from my walk (as referenced in NUDE BEACH Part 2 FIRING RANGE ) the guy actually left his phone number on my towel! Not only that, but an Italian guy was waiting for me to return. I’m packing up my gear and he just plops himself down right next to me and starts chatting me up. I don’t know why I’m so darn friendly. I guess I find it hard, er difficult to be rude to naked people. To see the entertaining video that goes along with this tale, go to my YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmUr_7XECBPT4U6fv4Eiv_Q Click on NUDE BEACH and then NUDE BEACH Part 2 FIRING RANGE under “Likes.” Remember, COMEDY NOT NUDITY. Hmm, maybe that will be my new slogan.
